A Post Falls man who grew up picking mushrooms found one of his biggest ones yet while driving home one night.
Zack Atkinson says he’s a mushroom enthusiast. He’s found puffball mushrooms before but nothing quite like this. He was driving home near Q’emiln Park Wednesday when he noticed something off the side of the road.
“I was excited because I knew exactly what it was,” he says.
It’s about 12 pounds and Atkinson says he plans on eating it.
He says this isn’t the largest one he’s found. He found a Chicken of the Woods that weighed about 20 pounds.
