The restaurant will be built on the property at 410 Anastasia Blvd., where demolition is taking place on the unoocupied building that formerly housed American Graffiti Restaurant.
“That should be complete in a few days,” St. Augustine Planning and Building Director Mark Knight said of the demolition.
“The building permit (for the new restaurant) should be approved in a couple weeks.”
According to Knight, Strickland was approved by the city’s Historical Architectural Review Board to demolish the current building, which was just over 50 years old. Any building 50 years or older must be approved by the board before demolishing.
Knight said the building plans have been submitted by Strickland and are in the review process.
